Rebound Magazine +
Beyond The Game/Silverlight Films
This one is fun. I actually met the Owner/Editor by chance in Arizona at a restaurant near my house while watching college football (Let's Go Hokies!). Long story short, in the end if I could beat him at a game of pool, he would take a look at my portfolio in consideration for an open Art Director position for "just a little magazine I publish". It was only after I sneaked out a win that I found out I was auditioning to work on the official magazine for the National Basketball Retired Players Association, and that he was a retired NBA player himself. My past work in magazine publishing secured me the gig, and seven years later we've still got a great relationship even from across the country.
As the Art Director for a national publication such as Rebound Magazine, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with some amazing people. One of those contacts is the Executive Director and Producer of the upcoming documentary called Beyond The Game Film. We began our working relationship when BTG collaborated with Rebound on the 2019 March Madness Edition. Working with the Silverlight Films team was so flawless, that I was contacted to do additional promotional materials for the film.

Rebound Magazine has evolved over the years in terms of logo, design, and material. The newest redesign features "clean, bold, and on-brand" layouts including bright colors, simple but effective layouts, a variety of effective fonts, and bold images.

Rebound's publisher wanted a website for his parent company, Sports Media Marketing, LLC, that would parody the magazine's new "clean, bold, and on-brand" look. With a fresh logo and a greyscale look, SMM's website looks to be launched Spring of 2020.

A new website for Rebound Magazine is in the works to update the site for the first time in years. Wanting a "clean, bold, and on-brand" look, we went with dark backgrounds with pops of bright brand colors using images from the magazine to fill out simple layouts. Although the re-design is still in-progress, the new website looks to be re-launched in the summer of 2020.
